The Greenbrier County 4-H Senior Livestock Judging team earned the highest honor possible in their “field,” they earned first place at the WV State 4-H Livestock Evaluation held in Morgantown on July 20.

As the 2018 WV 4-H State Champions, they are now eligible to represent West Virginia at 2018 National 4-H Livestock Judging contest this November in Louisville, KY.

Senior Team Members are Maggie Bartenslager, Cassidy Kellison, Jessica Kellison and Garrett Vaughan. Junior Team Members are Abby Hawver, Emma Helmick, Reagan Helmick, Delanie Voiles and Makayla Walton.

Individual Senior Participants are Autumn Eskins (top senior individual score in the state) and Grace Morgan.

The teams have had a busy season with weekly practices and competitions; and now will have an even busier fall preparing for the National Competition by holding additional weekly practices and travelling to practice contests throughout the fall.

The chance to compete on a national level does not come cheap. Cost for the team to travel to upcoming events is estimated to be $8,000. These youth would appreciate your help by sponsoring their teams’ journey to the National Competition. If you are interested in supporting the team, please contact Josh Peplowski at 304-647-7408.
