The public is invited to a birthday party, July 12, with music and refreshments celebrating the 75th birthday of the charter of the Greenbrier County Public Library.
The free event, from 6-8 p.m., also celebrates the 10th anniversary of the library’s spacious facility that overlooks downtown Lewisburg. Wine and appetizers will be served by Blackwell’s. Amy’s Cakes & Cones is making the birthday cake. If anyone has the credentials to make a special birthday cake, it’s Amy Mills – she’s executive pastry chef at the Greenbrier Sporting Club. She trained at Johnson and Wales University and earned two associate degrees, in the culinary arts and in baking and pastry arts.
Entertainment will be provided by Barbara Wygal Lutz, performing “Books to Broadway,” a musical revue. The performance was first announced for a November library event, but Lutz was called out of town on a family matter.
The Greenbrier County Public Library is the third most visited place in Greenbrier County, right behind the PGA tour at The Greenbrier and the State Fair of West Virginia.
