Gladys M. Erskine Garner

Ronceverte-Gladys M. Erskine Garner, 88, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.
Born Oct. 13, 1925, at Caldwell, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Clyde Jackson, Sr. and Iris Elizabeth Surgeon Jackson.
Gladys attended Ronceverte Baptist Church, was a member of the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center Senior Friends and was a member of Post #4940 Women’s Auxiliary of the VFW. She was a retired room attendant with over 30 years of service with The Greenbrier Hotel in White Sulphur Springs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: a son, Gene Patrick; three sisters, Lelia Woods, Jackie Avers and Christina Jackson; and five brothers, James, Arthur Jr., Bill, Charles and John Wallace Jackson.
She is survived by: her husband, Roy Garner; children, Mae Beavers of Fairlea, Jerry Patrick of Caldwell, John Erskine of Lewisburg, Arthur Erskine and wife Karen of Ronceverte, Mitch Patrick and wife Janice of Akron, Ohio and Mary Dunleavy and husband Tom of Roanoke, VA; daughter-in-law, Karen Patrick of Canton, Ohio; step-son, Bill Garner of Ronceverte; 15 grandchildren, one step-granddaughter and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, with Rev. Andy Howdock officiating along with the Choir from the First Baptist Church of White Sulphur Springs.
Burial will follow in the Salem Presbyterian Church Cemetery at Organ Cave.
The family will receive friends Friday, Nov. 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home in Lewisburg.
Those serving as pallbearers will be Travis Kyger, Greg Reynolds, Todd Patrick, Eric Patrick, Kevin Williams and Mike Gallimore.
