GHS to hold events for 250th anniversary of Camp Union

The Greenbrier Historical Society is recruiting members and other history buffs. Your attendance is requested to commemorate the 250th anniversary of Camp Union in Lewisburg on Sept. 28 and 29.

There will be an exhibit and Living History at our Barracks property, E. Randolph and N. Jefferson Streets (adjacent to Montwell Commons), on Sept. 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sept. 29 from 10 a.m. to noon.

Dunmore’s War & Camp Union will be hosting an exhibit opening and numerous Living History Interpreters, including Native Americans, 18th century surveyors, militia, fife, and drum musicians. Alan Gutchess, Director of Fort Pitt Museum, will hold the keynote address on Logan’s Lament and Indigenous/settler relations in Dunmore’s War, at Carnegie Hall on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2 p.m. Exhibit viewing and reception to follow at North House Museum, 814 Washington Street W.
