George Jackson Defibaugh, Jr., known affectionately to many as Jack, passed away on Mar. 16, 2026, in Lewisburg, WV. Born on May 6, 1963, in Ronceverte, Jack was a man of quiet strength and simple pleasures, leaving behind a legacy marked by dedication, service, and a deep love for the outdoors.

Jack was a proud U.S. Army veteran, having served his country with honor. After his military service, he pursued his passion for mechanics by attending Automechanic Diesel School, where he honed the skills that would define his professional life. As a mechanic, Jack applied his expertise with care and precision, embodying the work ethic and reliability that those close to him admired.

Beyond his career, Jack was a man who cherished the joy found in everyday activities. He loved riding motorcycles, fishing, hunting, and camping – pastimes that allowed him to connect with nature and those he loved. His affection for his flowers that graced his yard, a testament to his nurturing spirit. Additionally, Jack found excitement in go-cart racing and enjoyed traveling to Tennessee, embracing adventure whenever possible. He loved playing music with his past band The Eades Mountain Boys.

Jack’s family was central to his life. He is survived by his father, George Defibaugh and wife Barbara; son, Jack Defibaugh; daughter, Jennifer Bell; brother, Steve Defibaugh and wife Marcie; sister, Sherrie Lynn Foster; along with several nieces and nephews who appreciated his guidance and kindness. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Tolliver.

Friends and family will gather to honor Jack’s life with a visitation at Morgan Funeral Home, located at 252 Montvue Drive in Lewisburg, on Mar. 21, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, followed by the funeral service at 12 noon. The burial will immediately follow in Adwell Cemetery in Ronceverte, WV. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Peyton Hospice House, 1265 Maplewood Ave., Lewisburg, WV 24901.

Jack Defibaugh was, simply put, a man who lived honestly and loved deeply. His passing marks the loss of a steadfast friend, devoted family member, and skilled professional. His memory will remain cherished by all who had the privilege to know him.
