Genevieve Elizabeth Bennett Taylor, 95, of Ronceverte, WV, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026.

Genevieve was born on Dec. 24, 1930, in Caldwell, WV, to the late Joseph Alexander Bennett and Leta Williams Bennett. She graduated from White Sulphur Springs High School in 1949.

Genevieve was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Genevieve was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

She dedicated many years serving as a Remedial Reading Aide at Ronceverte Elementary School, where she shared her love of reading and learning with countless children. Her kindness, patience, and dedication touched the lives of many students and families throughout the years.

Genevieve was also a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Fairlea. Genevieve was also a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Fairlea.

Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she found great joy in sharing her love for the Lord with others. She deeply cherished her Sunday School class and the fellowship, friendship and sense of community she found through her church family.

Genevieve was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alfred W. Taylor, Sr., whom she married in 1949 and with whom she shared 64 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Eurcell Erwin and Janice “PeeWee” Depriest; her brother, Robert “Buddy” Bennett; her sister-in-law, Millie Bennett; and her brothers-in-law, Charlie Erwin and James Depriest.

She is survived by her sons, Alfred Willis Taylor, Jr. (Linda) and Robert Joseph Taylor (Brenda).

She leaves behind a loving family who will treasure her memory, including her grandchildren: Wyatt Taylor (Jenny), Amanda Taylor Heinbaugh (Cory), Angela Taylor Schmitt (Andrew), Justin Taylor, John “Jay” Taylor (Autumn), Casandra Taylor, Tevin Taylor (Rachael), and Missy Burdette (Eric).

She is lovingly remembered by her great-grandchildren: Abigail Taylor Yeager (Hadyn), Luke Taylor, John Taylor, Bryce Heinbaugh, Reilly Heinbaugh Dunlap (Will), Reese Heinbaugh, Aidan Schmitt, Owen Schmitt, Ethan Schmitt, Elin Schmitt, Kaine Taylor, Greyson Taylor, Adalynn Taylor, Havyn Taylor (Jon King), Keyana Taylor, Emmett Sturtz, Lauren Taylor Collins (Duncan), Hunter Taylor, BrentLe Taylor, Landon Burdette, and Atlee Burdette.

She is also survived by her great-great-grandchildren, Mayci Taylor, Colson King, and Anaia Collins, as well as a precious baby boy, Yeager, due in December.

Genevieve’s life was defined by her unwavering faith, her love of family, and her gentle spirit. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy in the many lives she touched, especially those of her family, students, friends, and church community. Her memory will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

All are welcome to join Genevieve’s family at her viewing on Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Fairlea, 9146 Seneca Trail S., Ronceverte, WV 24970, with Pastor Wyatt Taylor officiating.

Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery, 617 Teaberry Road, Ronceverte, WV 24970 immediately following the service.

Pallbearers will be Justin Taylor, Jay Taylor, Tevin Taylor, Cory Heinbaugh, Andrew Schmitt, and Eric Burdette.

Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte is in charge of arrangements.
