GEHS Golf News…

The GEHS Golf Team played in the AAA Region III Tournament in Charleston at Berry Hills Country Club (par 70) on Tuesday, Oct. 1 against nine other schools. Four man teams played counting the low thee players total. The two low teams plus the two low medalists not on either qualifying teams advance to the WV State Tournament on Oct. 8 and 9 at Wheeling, Oglebay Park, The Speidel Course.
Princeton finished first with a total of 239. Individual scores were Tyler Hilyer 74 (tournament medalist), William Hickman 82, Jared Porter 83 and Andrew Wilson 95. Finishing second was Shady Spring with 244. Scores were Drew Green 80, Landon Perry 81, Ryan Albaugh 83 and Dakota McComas 86. GEHS finished third with 245. (They missed tying for second by 1 stroke) Scores were Walker Dent 80, Owen Wood 82, Madison Erskine 83 and Griffin King 97. George Washington was fourth with 248. Scores were Kyle Bird 76 (Medalist to State Tournament), Drew Call 85, Harry Basile 87 and Matt Nelson 90. Oak Hill was fifth with 250. Scores were Craig Buchannon 76 (Medalist to State Tournament), Michael Nibert 86, Devon Elder 88 and David Thompson 93.
Other schools that competed in the Regional included Capital, Ripley, Riverside, South Charleston and Woodrow Wilson.
The GEHS Golf Team and Coach Mac Parks and Coach Terry Koon would like to thank everyone for their encouragement, support, and help throughout this season!
