GEHS Business Students excel at State Conference

The Greenbrier East High School FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) Chapter attended the State Fall Leadership Conference on Oct. 6 and 7 in Flatwoods. The entrepreneur team, that included Katlynn Boyd, Daisy Lively, and Malachi McCutcheon, placed 1st in the “Dolphin Tank” competition, winning $500. The team had to prepare and present a business plan. Their plan included the idea of “G.R.O.” – Greenbrier Recreational Outreach. The students look forward to presenting their project again at the state level competition in the spring.

Also, two students won individual competitions. Marisha Carpenter earned first in the Economics category and Sarah Feamster placed first in the Business Law category.

GEHS students that also participated in the conference included: Karee Diem, Claire Perkins, Kris McMillion, Isaiah Godfrey, Hannah Rivoire and McKenzie Brown.

Several schools from around the state participated in the conference.

The advisors for the GEHS FBLA chapter are Sharon Wolfe, Tiffany McMahan and Kristi Haddox.
