Lindside – Gary Lee Byers, 66, passed away Friday, Apr. 20, 2018, at his residence.

Gary was born June 24, 1951, in White Sulphur Springs, the son of the late Earl L. and Beulah Griffith Byers.

Gary was a diesel mechanic by trade, a graduate of Greenbrier East High School Class of 1970, and attended several vocational and management classes while in Atlanta. He was the service manager for Nalley Trucking in Atlanta. Gary was an avid Dallas Cowboy Fan, liked riding his motorcycle and enjoyed playing golf, particularly at Fountain Springs Golf Course in Lindside.

Other than his parents he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Brenda and a brother, Denny.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Teresa Joy Byers; step-daughter, Allissia Fisher of New Castle, VA; stepsons, Ernie Wright of Lewisburg, Eric Wright of Covington, VA and Steven Wright of New Castle, VA; sisters, Beverly Morgan of Georgia and Jean Bittinger of Florida; brother, Billy Joe Byers of Georgia; nephew, Earl Byers of Maryland; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Apr. 28, at 1 p.m. at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Pastor Lewis Brooks officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
