Free small business seminar series returns

BB&T, the Women’s Business Center and the New River Community and Technical College Office of Workforce Education have partnered to offer a series of free seminars on topics of interest to small business owners. The series started this summer and resumes in September.

Upcoming topics in the Money Smart Seminars for Small Business series are Tuesday, Sept. 16, Risk Management: Planning for what you Can and Cannot Control in Your Business; Thursday, Sept. 18, Tax Planning and Reporting: Learn how to Predict Business Tax Liabilities; Tuesday, Oct. 14, Recordkeeping: Improve your Recordkeeping Practices; Thursday, Oct. 16, Credit Reporting and Loan Packaging: Understand how Credit Reports are Used in the Underwriting of Bank Loans; Tuesday, Nov. 11; Banking Services Designed for Small Business; and Thursday, Nov. 13, Selling Your Business and Succession Planning.

The seminars will be held at the New River CTC Beckley Campus located at 167 Dye Drive in the Harper Industrial Park just off I-77 at Exit 44. Each seminar will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. Refreshments will be provided and seminars are free. However, as seating is limited, please register online at www.westvirginiawbc.org or call 304-253-3145 to register or for more information. You may register for as many seminars as you like.
