Nervous about pruning that shrub or tree in your back yard? Here is your chance to learn more about how and when to trim and shape your woody plants. The Greenbrier Valley Master Gardeners and the WVU Extension Service are offering a free workshop on Saturday, May 6 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The workshop will be held at the Demonstration Garden on the State Fair Grounds. No advanced registration is required. Participants are encouraged to bring pruning shears to try out their skills
Dr. Mira Danilovich, associate professor and WVU extension specialist, will lead the workshop. Dr. Mira, as she likes to be called, has over 30 years of experience in horticulture and has led many pruning and grafting training sessions. At WVU she serves as Consumer Horticulture Specialist and State Coordinator for the WV Master Gardener Program.
If you have questions about the workshop, please email gvmastergardeners@gmail.com or call Mary Dameron at the Greenbrier County Extension Office at 304-647-7409. In case of significant rain in the forecast for May 6, the class will be postponed until the following Saturday, May 13.
