The Family Refuge Center (FRC) has relocated its operations office to 540 North Jefferson Street, next to Marriott’s Fairmont Inn on Coleman Drive. An open house event was held on Thursday to celebrate the move and to provide tours of the new office space.

Having outgrown their previous location at 213 South Jefferson Street, the new, larger location will allow them to expand their services. “Over the next year, FRC is projected to double in staff size,” FRC’s Executive Director Kenosha Davenport said. “We are excited to be able to add more staff and offer more services to our community.”

The Family Refuge Center is a community-based domestic violence project that has served Greenbrier , Pocahontas, and Monroe counties is southeastern West Virginia since 1979. This year, Mercer County was added to their project for sexual assault services only. They are committed to ending physical, sexual, and emotional abuse in families. The FRC encourages and promotes healthy family life based on mutual respect and support for all family members. To this end, they provide direct services to victims and develop community awareness and responsiveness through their various programs.
