On Thursday, Aug. 27, members assigned to the Union Detachment of the West Virginia State Police were dispatched to an unattended death in the Cashmere area of Monroe County. Since that time, Troopers have identified the deceased as Gary Lester, 55, of Ballard.
The West Virginia State Police is working closely with the State Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death in this matter. It is suspected that foul play was involved.
