Forgiven Trio Oct 2013“Forgiven,” a gospel trio with working roots in the Bill Gaither Trio and the Weatherfords, will present a sacred concert this Sunday morning, Oct. 27, 10:30 a.m., at Greenbrier Valley Church of the Nazarene in Fairlea.
The group is comprised of Cloid and Debbie Baker of Lawrenceburg, IN, and Jeremy Dickerson of Somerset, KY. Cloid Baker traveled with the Bill Gaither Trio in the early 1970s, while Debbie Baker traveled with the Weatherfords. After their marriage in 1972, the couple traveled with the Weatherfords.
When Danny Gaither left the Bill Gaither Trio in 1977 to start his own group, Bill Gaither chose the Bakers to be part of his ministry.
In 1988 they formed Forgiven. For the past 40 years the couple has continued singing as a group and has served several churches as ministers of music. They are the parents of two grown children.
Singing with the Bakers is Jeremy Dickerson, who has experience from an early age singing with his family and later with regional groups. Forgiven is his first full-time traveling ministry.
The group has recorded for a number of labels and has been recognized by numerous Southern gospel music publications, including SoGospelNews.com, Gospel Music Profiles, Streets of Gold and Southern Gospel Music Forum. They have also been featured various times in the Singing News magazine in profile stories.
An offering will be received for the group. Greenbrier Valley Church of the Nazarene is located at Davis Stuart Road and Dawkins Drive, approximately one-half mile south of Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Fairlea. The Rev. Glen Thaxton is pastor.
