Monongahela National Forest is seeking feedback on a project to replace the Cranberry Glades Boardwalk located at Cranberry Glades Botanical Area, 9.5 miles west of Marlinton in Pocahontas County.

The Cranberry Glades Boardwalk Replacement Project will replace the existing boardwalk, entrance information board and all interpretative signs located along the boardwalk. The boardwalk replacement will be designed to be accessible, stable and low maintenance. Removal of the existing boardwalk and installation of the replacement will be completed with hand tools or machine powered tools within the footprint of the exiting route, as to ensure minimal disturbance to the surrounding sensitive environment.

Submit email comments to adrienne.nottingham@usda.gov with the subject line “Cranberry Glades Boardwalk Replacement”. Comments can also be mailed to: Marlinton Ranger District, Attn: Jason Hattersley, 1627 Cemetery Road, Marlinton, WV 24954. Comments will be accepted until Aug. 14, 2024.

Information received from the public during the comment period will be used to help develop the project proposal. For more information contact Adrienne Nottingham at adrienne.nottingham@usda.gov or call 304-799-4334.
