Alderson-Florine Flint Williams, 102-1/2, formerly of Falls View, WV, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015, at her home in Alderson, following a long illness.
Born Jan. 25, 1913, in Alderson, she was the daughter of the late Everette Cleveland and Flora Fitzgerald Flint.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband of 74 years, John Edgar Williams on Oct. 29, 2007; two brothers, Erman Carey Flint and William Earl Flint, Sr.; and two sisters, Evelyn Flint Lewis and Pearl Flint Smithson.
Mrs. Williams was a 1932 graduate of Talcott High School, Talcott, and received her teaching certificate from Marshall University, Huntington. Prior to her marriage, she taught school at Boyd Hollow School in Alderson and was also a homemaker. She was a member of the Alderson Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Falls View Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the Women’s Circle and church choir. Mrs. Williams was proud of the fact that she had voted in every Presidential Election since 1932.
Survivors include: five nieces, Betty Jo Miller of Charlton Heights, Lola Boone of Organ Cave, Karen Lobban of Alderson, Helen Randolph of Point Pleasant and Anne Scruggs of Covington, VA; six nephews, Otho Mays of Deshler, OH, James Mays of Weston, FL, Fred Mays of Charlton Heights, John Mays of Charlton Heights, Earl Flint, Jr. of Daniels and Robert Mays of Wilton Manors, FL; many great nieces and nephews; many great-great nieces and nephews; five great-great-great nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 28, at the Lobban Funeral Home Chapel, Alderson, where the Rev. John Holland officiated. Burial followed in Alderson Cemetery, Alderson.

Family members served as pallbearers.
