Historic Downtown Lewisburg celebrates First Fridays after 5! This First Fridays after 5 takes place from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6 and as always is free to the public. Everyone is welcome!

City National Bank along with Communities In Schools of Greenbrier County invite children age 3 to 10 to stop by for a fun outdoor “Read A-Loud” event from 5 to 7 p.m. Along with kid-friendly refreshments, children can move between four outdoor tents to listen to exciting tales and adventures, read aloud by community readers. Bring a chair, a picnic or a story and join in the fun! (109 South Jefferson Street, 647-1625)

Robert Wilson performs at Plants Etc. on clarinet with jazz, Irish tunes and old time music. (102 South Jefferson Street, 645-6910)

Studio 40 will celebrate its 5th anniversary with a show of new work by favorite local artist, Josh Miller. All are invited to stop by, have some refreshments, meet Josh and enjoy his colorful, whimsical artwork. (130 West Washington Street, 647-4444)

Banks Jesser from The Country Vintner offers a complimentary “Back-To-School Stress Relief Wine Tasting” at Harmony Ridge Gallery. Discover the wines of Tortoise Creek Vineyards from France and California, including Viognier “Le Verger,” Chardonnay “Jams Blend” and Pinot Noir “Les Oliviers” and Cabernet Sauvignon “Cherokee Lane.” (209 West Washington Street, 645-4333)

Patrick O’Flaherty will play traditional Celtic music at The Irish Pub from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by Richard Hefner and the Black Mountain Bluegrass Boys from 8 to 11 p.m. (109 East Washington Street, 645-7386)

The Greenbrier Valley Visitors Center features the music of Strum Sum Band from 5 to 8 p.m. Come in to enjoy the eclectic sounds of local musicians Mike Reed, Tom Hefner, George Piasecki and Bob DuCharme. (200 W. Washington Street, 645-1000)

Ron Kirk and Jay Frye of “Pushin’ String” will perform at The General Lewis Inn from 5 to 7 p.m. (301 East Washington Street, 645-2600)

The Historic Lewis Theatre invites people to stop by and enjoy a bag of complimentary fresh popcorn. (224 North Court Street, 645-6919)

First Fridays after 5 takes place all year long in downtown Lewisburg with shops, galleries and restaurants in downtown Lewisburg open until 9 p.m. serving complimentary refreshments and entertainment, sponsored by City National Bank.
