Downtown Lewisburg celebrates First Fridays after Five on Friday, Apr. 5! Join in on the fun with live music, art events and tasty treats, all free to the public. Everyone is welcome!

Edith’s Store offers a “preview tasting” of their offering for the upcoming Lewisburg Chocolate Festival: Chocolate Bites from Endangered Species.  (1035 Washington Street East, 645-7998)

Patina welcomes Patrick O’Flaherty back to play Irish music! Enjoy the tunes and complimentary drinks. (1046 Washington Street East, 520-4962)

Pop in at Blackwell’s to sample delicious loaded red potato stuffed with chicken and peach and barbecue appetizers paired with Zonas Revenge. (830 Jefferson Street South, 645-6159)

Visit the WV Fine Artisans Gallery to see Jeanne Brenneman, water colorist and Bruce Brenneman, woodturner. Jeanne will be at the gallery from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. demonstrating her techniques in watercolor and Bruce will be doing a meet and greet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. (1042 Washington Street East, 667-0320)

The Greenbrier Valley Visitors Center celebrates spring with an evening of art and music. Featured artist is local photographer Nima ShahabShahmir with his show titled “West Virginia Through My Camera.” Stop by to meet Nima and enjoy his beautiful photographs taken in Greenbrier, Pocahontas, and Fayette counties. On display in the art alcove will be a collection of paintings by Truman Shrewsbury. His show titled “Aberration” will include oils, charcoals, watercolors, acrylics and more. Truman will be in the center to talk about the inspiration behind his artwork. And to round out the evening, chat with representatives from Greenbrier Autism Community about their mission, purchase your Rubber Ducky Tickets for the Ronceverte River Festival and enjoy the toe-tapping tunes of Strum Sum Band throughout the evening. A New Chapter hosts author Betsy Reeder for a book signing of Madam’s Creek, light refreshments and a book giveaway. (922 Washington Street West, 681-319-3501)

Bella The Corner Gourmet features Easter Panettone and tasty wine for your holiday dinner table! Also, Bella will announce the winner of the worst frying pan contest. (1017 Washington Street East, 520-4921)

The Asylum presents Jonah Carden and Rob from 9 p.m. to midnight, along with a new April drink list! (399 Randolph Street East, 681-318-3515)

First Fridays after 5 takes place all year long, except January, in downtown Lewisburg with shops, galleries and restaurants in downtown Lewisburg open until 8 p.m. serving complimentary refreshments and entertainment, sponsored by City National Bank.
