First Fridays after 5 in Downtown Lewisburg is Back! February 6

Historic Downtown Lewisburg celebrates First Fridays after Five on Friday, Feb. 6! Join the fun in downtown Lewisburg – live music, art events and tasty treats – all free to the public. Everyone is welcome!

Edith’s kicks off February with a Winter Wellness Demonstration, to illustrate how immunity and wellness can be supported through every day food choices. Available for tasting will be a variety of options, including “tame-a-cold soup” and elderberry syrup. You will also learn about foods with a bone broth base, a nutritional powerhouse essential to the cold and flu season. (114 East Washington Street, 645-7998)

A huge welcome to three of our newest businesses in downtown Lewisburg: Luxe Salon and Country Road Yarn House and Osage Pecan Company of Lewisburg:

• Luxe Salon celebrates their Grand Opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony by Lewisburg Mayor Manchester, light refreshments and bite size treats plus lots of giveaways worth $300! (124 North Court Street, 681-318-3520)

• Country Road Yarn House kicks off their “First Friday Club.” All yarn lovers are welcome to sit, knit and crochet and enjoy complimentary coffee, tea and snacks. (107 North Court Street, 667-4797)

• Osage Pecan of Lewisburg invites you to complimentary samples of raspberry jalapeno medley over cream cheese with crackers. (204 West Washington Street, 520-4964)

The Greenbrier Valley Visitors Center premieres their 2015 “Art in the Valley” series with an exhibit of oil paintings by local artist, John Telisko. Stop in to meet John and view his beautiful artwork. Strum Sum Band will provide musical entertainment throughout the evening and representatives from The Greenbrier Humane Society will be on hand to promote their “Fill the Shelter with Love” campaign. Children will have the opportunity to decorate a heart or valentine which will be placed in the animal shelter. (200 W. Washington Street, 304-645-1000)

Love is in the air at Harmony Ridge Gallery – Stop by for a unique wine tasting with our local favorite connoisseur, Banks Jesser. Harmony Ridge Gallery also wishes a Happy Valentine’s Day to the first 50 ladies through the door with a heartfelt gift, made in American with love. Looking forward to seeing everyone! The Youth Center, also known as The Hub, located in the old Fort Savannah building, will be open for young folks, middle and high school ages, from 4 to 9 p.m. to enjoy a pool table, ping pong table, fooz ball table, art supplies, games, wi-fi, popcorn – all free! The Greenbrier Valley Women’s Fund invites all members of the community to support the improvement of women’s health by wearing red on First Friday and to join them in the City Green Space, downtown Lewisburg at 5 p.m. for a community photograph to raise awareness about heart disease. First Fridays after 5 takes place all year long in downtown Lewisburg with shops, galleries and restaurants in downtown Lewisburg open until 9 p.m. serving complimentary refreshments and entertainment, sponsored by City National Bank.
