The annual meeting held on behalf of the Greenbrier Valley Board of Realtors Feed the Need Community Food Drive was held Monday, Dec. 18.

The decision to donate to each of nine food pantries in the area was made. A $550 check was given to each to assist with purchasing food for those in need in their local communities.

Those pantries were: Quinwood Community Food Service, Inc., Peterstown United Methodist Church Food Pantry, Union United Methodist Church Food Pantry, First Baptist Church Food Pantry, Northern Greenbrier Food Pantry in Renick, Old Stone Church Food Pantry in Lewisburg, Emmanuel United Methodist Church Food Pantry in White Sulphur Springs and Alderson Ministerial Association Food Pantry. A donation of 944 non-perishable items was delivered to Well Spring of Greenbrier, Inc. located in Rupert on Thursday, Dec. 14.

Since the GVBOR’s Feed the Need Program began seven years ago, with the strong support of the community the REALTORS have been able to raise over $58,000 to assist the local food pantries to continue their service. The Greenbrier Valley Board of Realtors would like to send a special thank you to the following businesses for their support again this year: Cornerstone IGA, Fairlea, Save-A-Lot, Fairlea, Jewell’s IGA, Union, Kroger, Fairlea, Wal-Mart, Lewisburg, Alcova Mortgage, Fairlea and Secure Store Superior Self Storage, Lewisburg.
