The Family Refuge Center (FRC) invites the community to rev up their engines and rally behind survivors at its fourth annual Poker Run Fundraiser on Saturday, July 26. This exciting ride through scenic West Virginia isn’t just about the road – it’s about making the journey safer for everyone in our community.
Motorcycle riders and car enthusiasts alike are welcome to join a day filled with camaraderie, purpose, and powerful impact. Proceeds from the event will directly support FRC’s critical programs, including emergency shelter, advocacy services, housing resources, and education to end domestic and sexual violence in our region.
The Poker Run will be held Saturday, July 26, with registration beginning at 9 a.m. at the FRC Main Office (213 Coleman Drive, Suite B4, Lewisburg). Kickstands up at 11 a.m. The entry fee is $25 per rider, $10 for a second rider, and $10 per extra hand.
Participants will ride to multiple stops, collecting playing cards along the route to build their best poker hand. Prizes will be awarded for the best (and worst) hands, with opportunities to win raffles and enjoy local food and entertainment.
“This event brings together our community in a unique, energetic way,” said Stephanie Moore at the Family Refuge Center. “Every mile ridden and every hand played helps us provide life-saving services to those experiencing domestic violence.” Together, let’s ride for safety, hope, and healing.
Sponsorship opportunities are still available, and FRC welcomes local businesses and individuals to get involved through monetary donations, promotions, or volunteer support.
