The Family Refuge Center has been awarded a $9,800 grant by the Seneca Trail Charitable Foundation. This support will assist Family Refuge Center with their major renovation of the Anne Blair House Emergency Shelter Facility. The total cost of the renovation is an estimated $100,000, to which Family Refuge Center will use multiple funding sources over the next five years to complete.
The Seneca Trail Charitable Foundation award will be used to purchase two ductless heating and cooling units, ceiling and shower repairs, as well as paint for two of the bathrooms.
“What’s the best way to eat an elephant? One bite at a time,” said Kenosha Davenport, Family Refuge Center Executive Director. “We have a large project in front of us and that could seem overwhelming to some, but by taking it on, one project and one dollar at a time, we are able to accomplish the small goals that will get us to our complete renovation. We are thankful to Seneca Trail Charitable Foundation for helping us with a few more bites of that elephant.”
