Alderson – Evelyn Virginia Eggleston, 88, passed away Friday, June 12, 2020, at The Brier Nursing Home in Ronceverte.

Born Dec. 25, 1931, at Alderson, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Edward and Malinda Susan Stanley Eary.

She was a member of the Alderson Church of God, was a talented artist, and loved watching birds and doing puzzles of all kinds.

While living in Connecticut, she drove a school bus and city transportation bus, worked in a glass factory, and was a caregiver to the elderly. While living here she worked at The Greenbrier Hotel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Wanda Domurad and husband Dennis and Barbara McClung; and nephew, Jimmy Miller.

She is survived by daughter, Letha Bowyer and husband Marion of Alderson; son-in-law, Roger McClung of Wayside; two sisters, Bettie Ashley and companion Stan of Tampa, FL and Joann Smith of Alderson; two cousins, Rebecca St. Clair of Illinois and Norma Carter of Virginia; nieces, Melinda Bowdinwiser and Yvonne Terry; nephew, Danny Miller; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held on Wednesday, June 17, at the Fletcher Addition of the Alderson Cemetery in Alderson, where Pastor Gary Baker officiated.

The family received friends Tuesday evening, June 16, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg.
