Maxwelton-Ernest Layton “Bub” Wykle, 86, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021, at his home.

Born Aug. 29, 1935, in Frankford, WV, he was the son of the late Ralph Edward and Anna Catherine Hughes Wykle.

Layton was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and a member of Enon Baptist Church.  Layton was known for always raising a good garden.  He loved hunting, camping and being in nature.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marian Ann Wykle, on Sept. 8, 2021; a brother, Randy Wykle; sister, Carolyn Mankins; and a sister-in-law, Cindy Wykle.

Survivors include brothers, Jim Wykle (Paula) of Renick, Jerry Wykle (Gisela), Jack Wykle (Nadine), Elmer Wykle (Mikki) and Joe Wykle all of Frankford; sisters, Joyce Walton of Frankford, and Mary Ellen Whitt of Lewisburg; and numerous nieces, and nephews who all loved him dearly.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 31, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, 252 Montvue Drive, Lewisburg, with Pastor Steve Barnette officiating. Burial will follow in Greenbrier Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be on Sunday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. 

We will be following COVID-19 recommendations and request guests wear a mask.
