White Sulphur Springs
– Erica Wanda Kaptis, 36, gained her heavenly wings on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at her residence.
She was born Nov. 27, 1986 in Ronceverte, the daughter of Patricia Boggs and the late Charles W. Alexander.
Erica was a wife, mother, sister and daughter; she attended White Sulphur Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Other than her father Erica was preceded in death by her sister, Charlene Alexander; grandmother, Rayma Boggs and grandfather, Dwight Boggs, Sr.; aunt, Joyce Spence and uncle, Jackie Boggs.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Charles P. Kaptis; sons, Remington and Colton; stepdaughter, Carson; mother; Patricia Boggs; and grandmother, Vernie Alexander all of White Sulphur Springs; sister, Pamela Mentz (Robert, Jr.) of Jones Mountain; aunts, Wanda Dowdy (Phil) of White Sulphur Springs, Margaret Cook (Jeff) of Covington, VA, Robin Terry (Kurt) of White Sulphur Springs, Dorothy Dowdy (Lewis) of Glace, Hilda Mayo (Waylon) of Covington, VA; uncles, Danny Boggs (Elizabeth) of Glace and Dwight Boggs, Jr. (Phyllis) of Roanoke, VA; nieces, Jenny Sizemore and Sarah Mentz; special cousin, Alexandria Dowdy; father-in-law, Steve Kaptis of Covington, VA; and a host of other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Erica’s funeral services were held on Monday, July 17, at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Chapel in White Sulphur Springs where Pastor Gene Sizemore officiated. Interment followed in the Feury Cemetery, Tuckahoe Road, White Sulphur Springs.
The family received their family and friends Monday at the funeral home before the service.
