Eliose Graham Ramsey

Alvon-Eloise Graham Ramsey, 73, passed away Monday, Nov. 24, 2014, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.

Born Mar. 20, 1941, in Alleghany County, VA, she was a daughter of the late Asie and Dessie May Fain Graham.

Mrs. Ramsey was of the Protestant faith. She was a retired night cleaner at The Greenbrier. In her earlier years, she worked at the former Burlington Mills Plant in White Sulphur Springs. She loved gardening, sewing and getting information about herbs, of which she had a great knowledge of their healing capabilities. Mrs. Ramsey also liked to go to flea markets.

Preceding her in death, other than her parents, were her husband, Bernard James Ramsey in 2006, and brother, Acie Graham.

Survivors include: son, Bernard C. Ramsey at home; Elise Ramsey of Cambridge, MA; brothers, Atz, Hayroth, McKinnon, all of White Sulphur Springs, and Kinwood of Monroe County. She is also survived by numerous friends and neighbors who remember her as a hard-working, very kind, enjoyable lady.

Her funeral service will be conducted Saturday, Nov. 29 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Shanklin Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby McClintic officiating.

Interment will follow in the Spence Cemetery at Glace.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday evening, Nov. 28 at the funeral home.
