The Eastern Greenbrier Middle School golf team played their last match at the Lewisburg Elk’s Club on Monday, May 15, on the front nine par 34.

Summers County and Western Greenbrier middle schools attended. The format that was used was a Captain’s Choice, in which players play the best shot of the group for each shot. Teams were mixed between the three schools.

Teams in order of scoring were as follows:

Tucker Lambert (EGMS), Ian Morrison (EGMS), Jed White (EGMS) and Dakota Parker (Western), team score 36.

Alex Kagan (EGMS), Tristan VanBuren (EGMS) and Sam Whittaker (Summers), 36. Walter Everson of Western was sick and not able to attend. When there are only three players, each player alternates and hits two shots so that there are still four shots attempted per shot.

Kyle Ballard (EGMS), Dayton Austin (EGMS), Jake McGilvray (EGMS) and Ty Nickell (Western), 37.

Alex Hanna (EGMS), Kendall Giles (EGMS), Ethan O’Dell (Western), and Nick Willey ( Summers), 37.

Dawson Beavers (EGMS), Evan Vaughan (EGMS), Ryan Meadows (EGMS), and Levi Spencer, 38.

Bryce McCallister (EGMS), Tristan Deeds (EGMS), and Chase Boggs (Western), 39.

Hayden Yates (EGMS), Evan McClure (EGMS), Aaron Griffith (EGMS), and Chase Mizia, 41.

Zach Patton (EGMS), Andrew McLaughlin (EGMS), Bryson Keaton (Summers), and Chase Sloan (Western), 41.

Suzanne Bicksler (EGMS), Lexi Tipton (EGMS), Taylor Isaac (Summers), and Danaylee Long, 43.

Coaches Terry Koon and Mac Parks wish to thank all parents, players, EGMS staff, EGMS administration, the school board administration, the Lewisburg Elk’s Club and Roy Painter, head golf pro, Valley View Golf Course in White Sulpur Springs and Lisa and Brian Boggs, Allegeny T-Shirts and Shannon Walton, Mark Falls and the driving range behind Sears in Fairlea, coach Joey Fitzwater of Western Greenbrier, coach Jerod Ewing of Summers County, and both teams, the Mountain Messenger and West Virginia Daily News, Beckley Register-Herald, the community and The Greenbrier, and all their employees, for allowing them to have a wonderful season.
