Edna Mae Matthews

Lewisburg-Edna Mae Matthews, 97, formerly of Organ Cave, passed away Friday, Dec. 21,2018 at Springfield Center in Lindside.

Mrs. Matthews was born Mar. 3, 1921, in Organ Cave, the daughter of the late William Thomas and Bessie Susan Lowance White.

Edna had worked at Kellwood at Maxwelton and was a farmer.

Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Matthews; brother, William “Bill” White; and a sister, Edith Galindo.

Surviving are her niece, Martha McNeil of Organ Cave; several great-nieces and nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews; one great-great-great niece; and a host of cousins.

In keeping with Edna’s wishes she was a donor to the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine’s Human Gift Registry.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte is in charge of arrangements.
