At midfield, Billy Honaker takes the ball around the right end of the line and hits a hole to begin a touchdown run. Honaker scored four touchdowns, gaining 225 yards on the ground, to lead Greenbrier East to a 34-22 victory over visiting Logan County. Honaker only ran the ball four times in the first half, saving the fireworks for the second half of a back-and-forth game that wasn’t decided until well into the fourth quarter. Coach Ray Lee said Billy put the team on his shoulders in the second half, as a senior, as a leader, as a player. Honaker said after the game, “The stats are OK, but what really counts is the scoreboard.” (Mark Robinson photo)
