During Time Out for Applause at this week’s Greenbrier County Board of Education meeting, BOE members congratulated GEHS Agriculture Education Instructor Emily Dunkle, recipient of the National Association for Agricultural Educators (NAAE) Teachers Turn the Key Award. Recognized for her exemplary performance and dedication to Agriculture Education, Ms. Dunkle received a full scholarship to the National Conference in Phoenix, AZ, in November, where she will be honored.
Only the top young Agriculture educators in each state are selected for this prestigious award. The NAAE program encourages young teachers to remain in the profession and supports and recognizes participation in professional development. Since its inception, the program has impacted over 600 teachers across the United States. Participants are challenged to improve their teaching and classroom management, develop time management skills, and immerse themselves in professional development activities supporting their professional goals.
