Dorothy Owen Albaugh

Lewisburg-Dorothy Owen Albaugh, 98, passed away Friday, July 6, 2018, at the Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg.

She was born May 25, 1920, a daughter of William Frederick Owen and Mary Delilah Stidd Owen.

Dorothy was secretary at the office of the District Superintendent of the Lewisburg United Methodist Church, clerk at the Greenbrier Public Service District Office when it was located on Washington Street and a clerk at Winklers’ Office Supplies. She enjoyed gardening and baking, especially pies and cheese bread.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Esten E. Albaugh; son, Russell Owen Albaugh; and brothers, Johnnie and William Owen.

She is survived by daughter, Jeanette Albaugh with whom she resided in Lewisburg; sister, Kathryn McCain and niece, Marilyn McCain both of Steubenville, Ohio.

Graveside services will be held Friday, July 13 at 11 a.m. at Rosewood Cemetery in Lewisburg with Rev. Bev Columbo officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Peyton Hospice House, 1265 Maplewood Avenue, Lewisburg, WV 24901.

Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg is in charge of arrangements.
