White Sulphur Springs-Dorothy Jane Holley Vaughn, 87, passed away Thursday morning, Oct. 17, 2019, at Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea.

Dorothy was born Apr. 17, 1932, in Alvon, the daughter of the late Ross P. and Rose L. Kennedy Holley.

She was a homemaker and a member of Greenbrier Valley Baptist Church.

Preceding Mrs. Vaughn in death other than her parents were her husband, George P. Vaughn (Apr. 5, 2019); her sister, Betty Anderson; and her brother, Lawrence “Jr.” Holley.

Surviving are her son, Gregory Vaughn and wife Linda Bostic Vaughn of Ronceverte; granddaughter Bridgette Vaughn King and husband Shawn of Ashland, KY; great-grandchildren, Elijah King of Houston, TX, Isaiah King of Los Angeles, CA and Noah King of Ashland, KY; sister, Mary Bittinger of White Sulphur Springs; brother, Charles Holley of Alvon; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service for Mrs. Vaughn was held on Monday, Oct. 21, at Hillcrest Cemetery in White Sulphur Springs where Pastor Gordon Ross officiated.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Peyton Hospice House, 1265 Maplewood Avenue, Lewisburg, WV 24901.

Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs is in charge of arrangements.
