Williamsburg-Donald Lee Blankenship, 78, passed away Thursday, Apr. 16, 2020, at his residence.

Born May 12, 1941, at Friars Hill, he was the son of the late Lester and Elsie McCoy Blankenship.

Donald retired from the Maintenance Department at the WV School of Osteopathic Medicine. He was a member of the Band of Hope Baptist Church. He loved mowing his lawn, working his garden, hunting, and spending time outdoors riding his four-wheeler.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Blankenship.

Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Wanda Lewis Blankenship; son, Paul Blankenship of Williamsburg, WV; daughter, Betty Clifton (Tom) of Shady Spring; sisters, Louise Moody of Muddy Creek Mountain and Inez McMillion of Frankford; grandchildren, Emily King of Knoxville, TN, Eric Clifton (Gabby) of Daniels, Kayla Blankenship of Buckhannon, and Josh Blankenship (Tiffany) and Jake Blankenship (Danielle) all of Coal Camp, MO; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service was held on Sunday, Apr. 19, at the Ellis Chapel Cemetery, Renick, where Pastor Otis Lewis and Pastor Marshall Cochran officiated.
