District Governor Carla Finch and Club President Joe Taylor

District Governor Carla Finch made her official visit to the Lewisburg Lions Club on Apr. 11. DG Finch represents WV Lions District 29-C which covers southern West Virginia. Her address focused on the Lions motto “We Serve” and recognized the work done in Greenbrier County by the Lions. Club president Joe Taylor presented DG Finch with donation checks for the Lions Club International Foundation’s (LCIF) work in eye disease prevention, diabetes prevention, and disaster relief, West Virginia Lion Sight Foundation, Leader Dogs for the Blind, and Lions International Youth Exchange Program. Lewisburg Lions also support a number of local youth activities and community service organizations as well as providing eye exams and glasses for low-income residents.
Lions International is a worldwide group of 1.35 million civic-minded men and women. They represent 46,000 clubs in 207 countries. They make an impact globally fulfilling Helen Keller’s 1917 challenge to be Knights of the Blind. Lewisburg Lions are looking to increase their service projects and are currently recruiting new members. If interested in joining this group that makes a major contribution to the community, contact President Joe Taylor at 304-483-5393.
