Lewisburg-Dianne Doris Fawcett Hinkle, born July 23, 1938, passed away at University Hospital in Charlottesville, VA, on Monday, Sept. 5, 2022.
Dianne left behind her loving husband of 65 years, Maynard “Brownie” Hinkle. She had three children, son, Maynard Lee Hinkle of Grand Rapids, MI, grandson, Ross Murdock Hinkle, wife Casey and two great-grandchildren, Weston and Riley; daughter, Elaine Hinkle Canterbury, husband David of Lewisburg and their special daughter Sarah Morgan and two great-grandchildren, Ainsley and Laurel; and Dianne’s youngest daughter, Elizabeth E. Hinkle of Lewisburg. Dianne had a special deep and lasting friendship for over 60 years with Judy G. Henson who is a very fond and loving member of the whole family.
Dianne was proceeded in death by her loving parents, Julian and Kathryn Fawcett of Lewisburg. She was also proceeded in death by one sister, Priscilla Pamella Fawcett; two brothers, Victor D. Fawcett and Julian P. Fawcett all of Lewisburg. She has three surviving sisters, Kathryn Fawcett Cruse of Laurenceville, GA, Candy Fawcett Carle of Westerville, OH, and Rebecca Fawcett Bailey and husband David of Lewisburg. She has one surviving brother, Nathen K. Fawcett of Mishawaka, IN.
Dianne worked at S. J. Neathawk for over 35 years until she retired, and never met a stranger. She enjoyed her work and loved meeting people from all over. Dianne loved to hear the stories they would tell. She was a member of Lewisburg United Methodist Church for over 50 years and loved the fellowship and all the joy it brought into her life. Dianne was a member of the Lewisburg Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #105. She was a wife of a Shriner and Mason, and enjoyed the outings and dinners they had and meeting new friends there. Dianne loved life and all the people in it, her family could not keep up with her and she will be missed by many.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, Sept. 10, at 11 a.m. at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Rev. Bev Columbo officiating. Interment to follow in Rosewood Cemetery in Lewisburg.
The family will receive their family and friends on Saturday, Sept. 10, from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes that contributions be made to Lewisburg United Methodist Church, Youth Program, 1133 Washington Street East, Lewisburg, WV 24901.
