White Sulphur Springs – Diane Marie Long, 72, of White Sulphur Springs passed away Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at the Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea following an extended illness.

Diane was born Nov. 4, 1945, in Greenbrier County, the daughter of the late Lacy W. and Lula E. Lawhorn Terry.

Other than her parents she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sarah Rhodes.

She was a member of Fort Spring Missionary Baptist Church, had worked as a telephone operator with C&P Telephone Company and was a homemaker.

Surviving are her daughter, Lisa Hayslett and husband Stuart of Covington, VA; also a daughter and son; grandchildren, Melanie Marks and April Rhodes; great grandchildren, Destiny Marks, Sarah Marks, Nevaeh Marks, Addyson Marks and Owen Sturdivant; sisters, Nancy Falls and husband John of Fairlea and Mildred Pitsenbarger and husband Freddie of White Sulphur Springs; and brother, Larry Terry and wife Bev of Fairlea.

Funeral services for Mrs. Long were held Sunday, Jan. 7, at the Fort Spring Missionary Baptist Church where Pastor Jonathan Hunt officiated. Interment followed in the Mount Vernon Cemetery near Fort Spring.

The family received family and friends at the church before the service.
