<strong><img class="size-full wp-image-32225 alignleft" src="https:\/\/mountainmedianews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2018\/04\/mcc.jpg" alt="" width="170" height="221" \/>Daytona, FL-<\/strong>Dennis William McCallister, 82, formerly of Ronceverte, passed away Apr. l, 2018, at Halifax Hospice Care Center in Port Orange, FL.\r\n\r\nDennis was born Mar. 24, 1936, in Alderson, the son of the late William Floyd McCallister and Edith Mary Highlander McCallister.\r\n\r\nDennis retired with 21 years of service as an Aviation Mechanic with the U.S. Navy. After retirement he worked at Kellwood and as the Sexton for Trinity United Methodist Church in Ronceverte. Dennis and Nancy moved to Daytona, FL in 2002 to be near their daughter and her family.\r\n\r\nOther than his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Blake McCallister (2015) and a brother, Lewis McCallister.\r\n\r\nSurviving are his daughter, Pamela McCallister Bedard of Daytona, FL; granddaughters, Emily Bedard of Jacksonville, FL, Abby Bedard and Amy Bedard at home in Daytona, FL; and close family friend, Lisa Macdowell of Daytona, FL.\r\n\r\nA joint memorial service for Dennis and Nancy will be held at a later date.\r\n\r\nWallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte submitted this information for the family.
