Bobby and Judy Hoover won a decorating contest prize in a previous
year of the decoration contest.

Alderson Main Street has announced a decorating contest for houses and businesses in the Town of Alderson.

Home and business owners do not have to sign up to be part of the contest. A team of judges will drive around town on Saturday, Dec. 15 starting at 6 p.m. and make their decisions.

Some of the categories are “Gem of the Hills” Christmas, Spirit of Christmas, Best Nativity, Children’s Fantasy, and Old Fashioned Christmas, just to name a few.

Winners will be invited to join Alderson Main Street members at a celebration at the Alderson Visitors Center on Thursday, Dec. 20 at 7 p.m. Prizes include certificates, one year free memberships to Alderson Main Street, and the posting of a photo of their house/business on the Alderson Main Street Facebook page.

Alderson will be especially festive this year with the special light show on the Alderson Memorial Bridge and at Santaland in Alderson Alumni Park.  Everyone is invited to come to Alderson and take a look.
