The General Andrew Lewis Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) responded to a request from the Department of Veterans Affairs at the Beckley VA Hospital to help support a special event for “amazing women veterans” at the hospital. A Diva Day Retreat was held on May 6 dedicated to pampering, celebrating, and empowering these incredible women.
The members of the Chapter rose to the occasion, and on Apr. 28, cosmetics, scarves, nail tips and hats were delivered to the hospital.
Stephanie Daniels, Assistant Chief of Volunteer Services, received the gifts. The chapter also included summer-weight clothing for the men. The General Andrew Lewis Chapter is proud to have contributed over $900 of gifts to the veterans.
