Daniel Lee Bryant, known to many simply as Daniel, passed away on July 2, 2026, in Blue Sulphur Springs after a long illness. He was born on July 21, 1949, in Blue Sulphur Springs to the late Jake Vernie Bryant and Cora E. (Littlepage) Bryant. Daniel lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys that made each day meaningful.
Daniel was a hardworking man throughout his life. He spent many years farming for the Wilson Brother’s Farm in Lewisburg and also worked for various logging companies. He took pride in honest labor and was known for his steady hands, dependable nature, and willingness to help wherever he was needed. Whether he was tending to the land, caring for cattle, or working on something mechanical, Daniel approached every task with patience and determination.
Outside of work, Daniel found happiness in the things that reflected his love for country living and family traditions. He enjoyed playing the guitar and banjo, and music brought him comfort and joy throughout his life. He also loved farming and raising cattle, and he took great satisfaction in working with his hands. He had a natural talent for fixing and tinkering with anything mechanical, and he could often be found giving attention to a project that needed his care. Daniel also enjoyed watching westerns, especially Gunsmoke, which remained one of his favorite pastimes.
Most of all, Daniel treasured the time he spent with his family and friends. He was a devoted companion, father, grandfather, and relative whose presence brought warmth and strength to those around him. He is survived by his loving companion of 22 years, Cynthia K. Jones; his sons, Kelly Bryant and his companion Heather Sears of Covington, Virginia, and Dustin Bryant of Blue Sulphur Springs; his daughters, Carolyn Bryant of Lewisburg and Greta Bryant and her companion Billy Finn of Rupert; and his grandchildren, Johnathan Bryant and his wife Susan of Flat Mountain, Joise Scott and her husband Nathan of Alderson, JR Bryant and his wife Shelbi of Williamsburg, Greyson Bryant and Hayden Bryant, both of Rupert, Nikki Rodriguez of Florida, and Mackenzie Gore of Princeton, WV; his 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins who will cherish his memory.
Daniel will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of the land, and the quiet kindness he showed to those who knew him best. His life was one of dedication, resilience, and love for family. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
Graveside services and burial will be on Friday, July 3, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. at the Bryant Family Cemetery in Blue Sulphur Springs, WV, with Pastor George Bryant officiating.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
