Alderson-Dale Lee Feamster, 89, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022, at the Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg, following a long illness.
Born Oct. 13, 1932, at Palestine, WV, he was the son of the late Chester Franklin and Mae Virginia Fleshman Feamster.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Gaye Sue Hosey; and two brothers, Phil David Feamster and Joe Henry Feamster.
Mr. Feamster retired as a Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force on Aug. 31, 1974, after 22 years of service to our Country. He was an Aircrew Egress System Repair Tech and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Following his career with the United States Air Force, Mr. Feamster served as a Surveyor in Greenbrier County, and retired to farm life. He was a lifelong member of the Feamster Baptist Church in Alderson, where he served as a Trustee and was a member of Tri County Memorial VFW Post 6723, Alderson, where he served as Chaplain until his health prevented him from doing so. He was a member of the Greenbrier Squares Square Dancing Club and he loved to ride his Harley Davidson. Mr. Feamster was raised by his grandmother who instilled a strong faith that he carried throughout his life.
Survivors include his loving wife of 16 years, Carolyn Mae Doyle Feamster of Alderson; three sons, Paul Feamster and wife Lara of Mesa, AZ, Kim Feamster and wife, Michelle, of Brea, Calif., and Scott Feamster and wife, Sherry, of Canada; two brothers, Bucky Feamster and wife, Linda, of White Sulphur Springs, and Jack Lynch and wife Dee of Tennessee; two sisters, Beverly Feamster Pack and husband, Leroy, of North Carolina, and Gay Van-Kammon of Wyandotte, MI; two stepchildren, Lori Ann Hicks and husband, Carl, of Hot Springs, VA, and Andrew Wiseman and wife, Kate, of Falling Spring, VA; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at the Feamster Baptist Church in Alderson where Pastor Jonathan Hunt officiated. Private family interment will be held at a later date at the Huffman Cemetery in Alderson.
Friends called Wednesday at the church before the service.
Military funeral honors were conducted by Tri County Memorial VFW Post 6723, Alderson, and the United States Air Force.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
