‘Cruisin’ together since 1902’

Greenbrier County 4-H wrapped up another fast-paced, fun-filled, and friendship forming camping season at the Greenbrier County Youth Camp. Channeling a cruise ship theme “Cruisin’ Together Since 1902”, 4-H’ers voyaged from Greece, Mexico, Hawaii, Australia, and South America. Each day the campers would explore culture, cuisine, and activities associated with the country to which they were “ported.” 126 younger campers and 58 older campers competed in an “Olympic Games” to support Greenbrier County 4-H’s annual fundraiser for a local youth in need. This year funds were raised to lessen the financial burden for young Matthew Eggert diagnosed with Ataxia-telangiectasia. Campers enjoyed performances from Adam Degraff and the Greenbrier Academy Girls along with a visit from AT&T to speak on the dangers of texting and driving. From luaus to drive-in movies, Greenbrier County 4-H kept youth busy throughout the two weeks of camp. 4-H Camp could not be made possible without the hard work, sacrifice, and smiling faces of our many volunteers. Greenbrier County 4-H would like to extend a sincere thank you to every person who made “Cruisin’ Together Since 1902” possible. Every minute spent by a cabin counselor, every craft or skill gained in classes, and every cent donated for camp scholarships is precious. In honor of 100 years of 4-H camping, HOW HOW!
