Students and staff of Crichton Elementary School invite the community to join them in celebrating completion of extensive health and safety upgrades to the school. A ribbon-cutting ceremony at the school is set for Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 6 p.m. The Greenbrier County Board of Education will hold its regular monthly meeting at Crichton Elementary that same evening at 7 p.m.
A Major Improvement Program (MIP) grant from the West Virginia School Building Authority in the amount of $900,000 was combined with a local match of approximately $100,000 to make possible renovation of the school’s entryway and administrative office area; replacement of windows throughout the main building; HVAC installation; and electrical service upgrades.
“We are so proud of our school and are very grateful for all of the work that has been done to improve this facility. I encourage our families and community members to come out on Oct. 11 to take a tour and help us celebrate all that has been accomplished here,” said school Principal Stephania Meadows.
