It is with great sadness that the Greenbrier County Commission announces the unexpected passing of Commissioner Blaine Phillips on Wednesday, Mar. 20, 2024.
Before his election as a County Commissioner, Blaine had long committed himself to serving the citizens of Greenbrier County. Upon his election, he spent a great deal of time training and learning the intricacies of his office to be the best public servant possible. Blaine’s excitement for the future of the county, and his dedication to family and business gave him the perfect public servant’s heart.
Blaine was our friend and a true Greenbrier Countian, and although we will remember his service and honor his dedication, his absence will be profoundly felt by his community. Our hearts and prayers are with Blaine’s family and friends as we mourn with them in their time of sorrow. Thank you for your friendship and service, Blaine.
