Community members donate to Dick Pointer Cemetery Improvement Project

The fundraising campaign for the Dick Pointer Cemetery Improvement Project is off to a good start, thanks to several generous donations.

Brandon Johnson of the law firm Stroebel and Johnson recently presented the Lewisburg in Bloom Committee with a very generous donation to sponsor three Norway spruce trees and one Miss Kim lilac bush.

The following have also made very helpful contributions: Mark and Allyson Liebendorfer; Connie Manchester; Jeanne Wahl; David and Suzanne Gibson; Robert and Ruby Mareneck; Jeff Jeffus; William Turner and Susan Rosshirt; Greenworks Recycling; David and Shannon Beatty; Greenbrier Valley Master Gardeners. The Lewisburg House and Garden Club has decided to donate the money for the wrought iron fence.

The following items are still available for donations: Seven Miss Kim lilac bushes ($60 each), four Constellation dogwood trees ($275 each), twenty green velvet dwarf boxwoods ($70 each).

People can donate to the cemetery improvement project by writing checks to the Lewisburg in Bloom Committee (memo should indicate “cemetery improvement”) and dropping them off at Lewisburg City Hall or mailing them to Dick Pointer Cemetery Improvement Project, 942 Washington Street West, Lewisburg, WV 24901. Please call Shannon Beatty, Lewisburg in Bloom coordinator at 304-645-2080 for more infonnation.
