Collaboration and partnership bring progress

By Kara Dense, Executive Director, Greenbrier Valley CVB

While 2020 has seemed a bit monotonous, that is not the case everywhere. Take White Sulphur Springs. The last time you drove through the downtown area did you notice any changes like new shops and restaurants?  You might be wondering what else is happening behind the scenes of the Spa City. To put it simply, a lot.

A new community development initiative is underway in White Sulphur Springs. The West Virginia Community Development Hub, known as “The Hub” has designated the city as a new member of its Community Achievement Program, or HubCAP!

As a Community Development Organization, “The Hub” mobilizes residents from all over the state to spark transformational change and progress in their communities.  Hallmarks of the organization’s work are to spur on community momentum; to unite the forces of groups for collaboration; and to champion new, and sometimes unexpected leaders.

We are thrilled about this opportunity for not only White Sulphur Springs but to the entire Greenbrier Valley.

Interested in learning more? Join us at our upcoming White Sulphur Springs Virtual Happy Hour via ZOOM on Thursday, October 1, at 6:30 pm.

This hour-long event will give you a glimpse of the positive energy and progress throughout the city. The agenda includes 20 speakers sharing their two minutes of good news about White Sulphur Springs, and you won’t want to miss it. To join the meeting or call in and listen: https://pacificu.zoom.us/j/94726919850

If you have good news to share, please visit Greater Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce and sign up to be a speaker.

Collaboration and partnership are so important to our way of life throughout the Greenbrier Valley. We stick together and celebrate our collective accomplishments. As Margaret Mead said, “never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens could change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”

I hope you will take a moment to spend with us and share in the excitement of the changes happening in beautiful White Sulphur Springs.
