The Maxwelton Ruritan Club for 10 days sold ice cream at the organization’s booth at the US 219 North entrance to the West Virginia State Fairgrounds and also helped cater a social for members of the Classic Airstream Club.
In addition to supporting the Ruritan Club in its sales, the president of the Classic Airstream Club, Joel Ware of Seattle, WA, presented a check for $200 to Ruritan member Larry Bowman to support the Flood Relief Fund of the Maxwelton Ruritan Club.
Funds raised through the ice cream stand go back into the community in donations to area volunteer fire departments, charities, and college scholarships.
The Maxwelton Ruritan Club meets on the fourth Thursday of the month at the Airport Restaurant and/or the Ruritan Ice Cream stand at the State Fairgrounds and is the only civic organization specifically for the Maxwelton area from I-64 north to Savanah Lane.
