Catholic Churches of the Greenbrier Valley
A schedule of special services for Holy Week has been announced for the Catholic Churches of the Greenbrier Valley and the public is invited to all services. On Apr. 4, the Easter Vigil Mass will be held at St. Charles Borromeo in White Sulphur Springs at 4 p.m. and at St. Catherine of Siena in Ronceverte at 7 p.m. Easter Sunday Masses, Apr. 5, will be at 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo and 11 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena with special music at the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Masses. Easter Monday daily Mass, Apr. 6, will be celebrated at St. Louis, King of France, Catholic Church on Coleman Drive, Lewisburg (behind Shoney’s) at 7 a.m. For information on these and other services at the Catholic Churches of the Greenbrier Valley, contact the office of the Catholic Churches of the Greenbrier Valley 304-536-1813.
Lewisburg Church of Christ
Local Christian-based nonprofits, The Corbin Story Fund and N.O.A.H. Foundation are sponsoring an Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, Apr. 4, at 2 p.m. at the Lewisburg Church of Christ. The free event will include baby chickens and ducks for viewing, prizes and raffles, up to 1,000 Easter eggs, a visit and photos with the Easter Bunny, face painting, goody bags for the first 60 children and snacks and drinks. The church is located on Rt. 219 North, across from the bowling alley. Alderson Manor
will be holding its 5th annual Easter Egg Hunt and Spring Celebration Saturday, Apr. 4, starting at 10 a.m. There will be an egg hunt open to all children, followed by our famous cupcake walk (for all ages) and piñata. Leo the Alderson Lion will be in attendance, as always. The event is free and open to the general public. Alderson Manor is located on Alderson Cemetery Road, off Rt. 12 South out of Alderson.
New River Unitarian Universalist Fellowship
The message for Sunday, Mar. 29, will be “Practicing Resurrection.” Rev. Nina Emmerling, from Clintonville, will lead the service beginning at 11 a.m. Visitors are welcome to attend. There will be a Religious Education available for children and youth. For further information call 304-252-4016.
Greenbrier Valley Church of the Nazarene
“Worthy Is the Lamb” an Easter cantata from Brentwood Benson Music Publications of Nashville, will be presented by the Sanctuary Choir of Greenbrier Valley Church of the Nazarene, Sunday, Apr. 5, in the 10:30 a.m. worship service. The church is located at Davis Stuart Road and Dawkins Drive, one-half mile south of the hospital in Fairlea.
Nazarene pastor and evangelist Harold Massey will be the featured speaker for spring revival services Apr. 12-16 at Greenbrier Valley Church of the Nazarene in Fairlea. Services are Apr. 12 at 6 p.m. and Apr. 13-16 at 6:30 p.m.
Bascom United Methodist Church
in Rupert will have their annual pancake and buckwheat cake dinner Monday, Apr. 6, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. All you can eat – pancakes, buckwheat cakes, sausage, bacon and drinks. Price is $6.50 for adults and $3 for children 11 and under. Sponsored by The Fellowship Class.
Clifton Presbyterian Church
The Presbyterian Women organization of Clifton Presbyterian Church will hold a rummage and bake sale Friday, Apr. 10, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. The rummage sale will feature a wide variety of items, including home decorations, toys, small appliances, small furniture, tools, books, linens, and gently used clothing. Baked goods will also be available for purchase. Proceeds from the event will benefit a number of local and worldwide charitable organizations. Clifton Presbyterian Church is located on Route 219 in Maxwelton. The rummage sale will take place in the church’s fellowship hall.
Lewisburg Methodist Church
Creative Camp for any child ages 4/rising pre-K to rising 6th graders will be held at Lewisburg United Methodist Church June 2-5, from 9 a.m.-12 noon. Come enjoy learning true stories about Jesus through the arts with daily live bands, basket creating, skits, edible art, wood working, bird feeders, clay and more. Join Rev. Bev Colombo, LUMC’s minister of youth, families, and creative worship, along with parent volunteers, for this special four-day event offered at no cost to families.
