The Child and Youth Advocacy is proud to announce its selection as a recipient of the West Virginia First Foundation’s (WVFF) inaugural Opportunity Grant.

The grant, totaling $107,743 will be used to support the expansion of critical trauma informed care for children and their non-offending caregivers in Greenbrier, Monroe, and Pocahontas Counties. This funding allows the Child and Youth Advocacy Center to expand their center;adding two additional offices, a secondary bathroom, and increase overall service capacity and space.

“We are deeply grateful to the West Virginia First Foundation for believing in our vision and supporting our work,” said Francesca Zarcone, Executive Director. “This grant begins to fund a much-needed addition to the CYAC’s center. We have outgrown our space and need more room to allow us to properly serve our counties and communities. The CYAC is seeking an additional $80,000 to complete this project.” If you are interested helping with the completion of this project, you can mail a check to the Child and Youth Advocacy Center at 112 Courtney Drive Lewisburg, WV 24901 or donating on CYAC’s website: https://childandyouthadvocacy.org

Jonathan Board, Executive Director of the West Virginia First Foundation, praised the work of the CYAC, “Organizations like the Child and Youth Advocacy Center are at the heart of our mission to empower communities and combat the effects of substance use disorder. Their dedication to creating positive change is inspiring, and we are honored to support their efforts through the Initial Opportunity Grant.”

The WVFF Initial Opportunity Grant underscores the Foundation’s dedication to investing in organizations and initiatives that address the opioid epidemic and its far-reaching impacts across the state. The Child and Youth Advocacy Center is honored to be part of this mission and is committed to using this funding to drive meaningful change.
