Charlie McKinley Lucas, 91, of Ronceverte, went to be with the Lord after being in the Seneca Trail Health Care Center following a long illness.

He was born Dec. 14, 1934 at Second Creek to the late Grover and Goldie Hoke Lucas.

Charlie loved to sing, work in the yard and loved to sit on his porch and tell stories of his childhood. He retired in 1997 from the Department of Highways, after 34 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his wife June Elizabeth Lucas; 5 brothers and 5 sisters.

He is survived by three children, Regenia Bunting, Douglas Lucas and Joseph Lucas; three grandchildren, Jessica, Sarah and Hannah; two great-grandchildren, Zavien and Myleah; two sisters, Nancy Erskine of Elkins, WV and Phyllis Elmore of Union, WV; several nieces and nephews and a special friend and brother-in-law, Mack Preston of Second Creek, WV.

He will greatly missed by his children and those whose lives he touched.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte, with Mr. Harry Vance officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery, Second Creek, WV.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
